What is the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative?
Habitat of Milledgeville-Baldwin County is a new partner to the NRI program. It kicked off its first projects during the annual River of Life week hosted by the First United Methodist Church of Milledgeville during the summer. More than 250 youth and adults from across the state came to help out members of the Milledgeville community with minor house repairs. With the help of such a large crew, who served more than 40 homes on their own, Habitat was able to serve three new families for Habitat: two NRI projects as well as our next homeowner.
Vision Neighborhoods across the country are revitalized into vibrant, safe and inviting places to live for current and future residents. This will happen through the hard work of engaged citizens, partnerships with civic and business groups and a renewed community spirit.
Mission NRI affiliates serve more families by responding to community aspirations with an expanded array of products, services and partnerships, empowering residents to revive their neighborhoods and enhancing the quality of their lives.
Goals
To serve more families through an expanded array of housing products.
To demonstrate an improved quality of life in the communities served.
To broaden the base of Habitat's financial support.
